General Dentist

Hi, I am Dr. Jonathan Berns and I am very happy that you are checking out my website. 

I love my community and strive to be a community leader.  I am honored to be a board member for the Ogemaw County Scouting Association and a committee member at large on Scout Troop 971.  I am also a proud sponsor for many events in the West Branch Area such as Music in the Park.

I have achieved the Fellowship Award for the Academy of General Dentistry in 2008 and have been practicing dentistry for over 25 years.

I am involved in organized dentistry at the national, state and local level.  I am currently on the executive committee of the local dental society: Saginaw Valley District Dental Society and delegate to the Michigan Dental Association.

I am married to Dr. Sally Sperbeck, who is physician specializing in Internal Medicine and Wound Care.  She has her own practice on Court St: West Branch Direct Primary Care, PLLC. 

  I am a member of Midland Center for the Arts and Dow Gardens and go to many plays and concerts.  I enjoy hiking, biking, astronomy, and reading science fiction.  I'm an avid cook and especially enjoy making Thai food with real Thai ingredients.

I am a Dental Assistant at Dr. Jonathan Berns office. I have been with the practice for almost 20 years and now I have the pleasure working with Dr. Berns for 14 years now.  I take a lot of pride being a Dental Assistant.  I love educating our patients on the importance of Oral Health Care and helping them maintain their healthy smiles. One of my favorite parts of my job is getting to know our patients and their families.  They become more like family to me.  I love what I do and I love coming to work every day and seeing our patients.  My goal is to ensure every patients gets the best care that they deserve. I have volunteered for the Mission of Mercy, twice, and will continue to do so. 

I was born and raised in West Branch.  I currently reside in West Branch with my son, Cody and our two dogs, Mylah and Koda.   We enjoy camping, hunting, fishing, boating, kayaking, baseball and spending time with our family.

Hi, my name is Laurie Romatz.  I am a dental assistant with the office of Dr. Jonathan Berns.  I started working at the practice on April 23, 1990 and was employed by Dr Jeffrey Schubert for 19 years.  Dr Berns bought the practice on June 1, 2009 and I'm still here 30 years and counting!!  As a dental assistant I enjoy helping and educating the many past , present and future patients we have in our practice. Over the years they are all like family.  Healthy smiles make for a healthy life. I have volunteered for the Mission of Mercy since it started .

I love the outdoors especially in the summer when I am on my Harley Davidson motorcycle riding with friends & I also enjoy going for my daily walks. You might even see me walking through our town.

Hi my name is Cindy and I'm the Office Receptionist at Dr. Berns office.  I have been with the practice for 7 years. I love working the front desk and greeting every patient with a smile and a friendly word.  I like to make everyone as comfortable as possible about "being at the dentist".

I have a beautiful daughter, Markele and her baby of 2 years, Trooper.  Which is a yellow lab and the best granddog ever. I also have 2 cats, Chiquita and Bo jangos. On my spare time I enjoy helping my sister out at her restaurant and love to cook for my friends and family.
